Birth Sensitives Doula

Birth

Estherea offers Personalised & Holistic Care. Every birthing family is cared for by a dedicated team of two midwives and a doula. We provide birth support for low-risk pregnancies in a safe, welcoming, and home-like environment—ideal for those seeking a more natural & empowering birth experience.
All while thoughtfully following medical guidelines to ensure your safety and peace of mind.

Birthing support

Our team offers a model of care that complements medical expertise by supporting the emotional, physical, and personal aspects of childbirth. With a focus on continuity and connection, midwives often have more time to build relationships, listen closely, and tailor care to individual needs and preferences—working alongside medical teams when needed to ensure safe, respectful, and well-rounded support.

Environment

Estherea offers a comfortable, calm & non-clinical environment. Our beautiful birth house has private, restful birth rooms with ensuite birthing tubs

We encourage you to move freely and explore different birthing positions, as this can help you stay comfortable, enhance your labor progress, and give you a sense of control over your experience.

Core benefits

High Safety for Low-Risk Births

Our birth unit is designed to safely support low-risk births. If complications arise, there are clear protocols to transfer you to a hospital quickly. Communication with your obstetrician is of high priority to Estherea and is maintained throughout your pregnancy and labour. Midwives are trained to support natural processes and non-medical pain relief (e.g., breathing techniques, water immersion, massage), while still recognizing when medical help is needed.

Continuity of Care

Throughout your labor, you'll be supported by your midwife and familiar birth team, creating a sense of continuity and trust. This ongoing relationship starts during your pregnancy and continues through birth, ensuring that the team understands your preferences and needs. Having this consistent care can help reduce stress and anxiety, as you’ll feel supported by caregivers who truly know you and your birth plan.

Intervention

Midwife-led care is associated with fewer medical interventions
(such as cesareans, episiotomies, and inductions), which often leads to a safer and more personalized birthing experience. It is especially appealing for those who want a natural or low-intervention birth, focusing on comfort, support, and the body’s natural ability to give birth.

Postpartum Care

We encourage families to stay with us for at least six hours after birth, allowing time to ensure both mother and baby are medically stable and gently supported in their early bonding. This immediate postpartum period is an important time to monitor vital signs, manage any unexpected changes, and offer help with feeding and recovery. It also gives space for skin-to-skin contact and emotional connection. As part of our birth package, we include three postpartum home visits to continue that care—supporting feeding, healing, emotional well-being, and the whole family’s adjustment at home.

Sensitive C-Section

We honor every mother’s birth journey. How we are born matters, but how we educate ourselves to make the right choices for us matters even more.
C-sections can be a necessary or preferred way to bring a baby into the world, and they deserve the same level of care, respect, and emotional support as any other birth experience. That’s why we offer Sensitive C-Sections, ensuring a warm, connected, and empowering experience for both mom and baby.

What makes a Sensitive
C-Section different?

Doula Support

At Estherea, every mother has a birth doula by her side. A doula is there to support you during labour and delivery by offering reassurance, guidance, and comfort measures such as massage, breathing techniques, and positioning. She also helps you communicate with medical staff and supports your birth preferences, so you feel safe and empowered. We also offer in-hospital doula support, ensuring you receive consistent, one-on-one care no matter where you choose to give birth.

Continuous Emotional and Physical Support

A birth doula provides continuous, one-on-one support during labour and delivery, offering comfort measures like massage, breathing techniques, and positioning. She helps you communicate with medical personel and supports your birth preferences, helping you and your partner feel confident, safe, and empowered.

Advocacy

While a doula doesn’t make medical decisions, they can help you understand your options and communicate your preferences, helping ensure your birth plan is respected (as much as possible) in a hospital environment.

Partner Support

A doula doesn’t replace your partner but enhances their role by guiding them in how to best support you, reducing their stress and helping both of you feel more confident and prepared.

Pain Management Techniques

Doulas are trained in non-medical pain relief methods like breathing, massage, positioning, and visualization—helping you manage labor more comfortably, whether or not you choose an epidural.

Postpartum Support

Many doulas offer immediate postpartum help with breastfeeding, bonding, and emotional support—areas where hospital staff may have limited time.

Reduced Interventions

Research shows that the presence of a doula can lead to shorter labors, fewer cesareans, and less need for interventions like Pitocin or forceps/vacuum delivery.
